Andrea M. Gordon loves working with local businesses to assemble raffle prizes for groups she cares about. Photo by Katheryn Laible.
We recently welcomed photographer Andrea M. Gordon as a new Firefly! Like many artists, Andrea is deeply involved in community service. Recently, in fact, she’s been busily collecting raffle prizes for THREE organizations! At the same time!!!
Andrea admits it’s challenging, but is passionate. “I just think it’s such a win-win-win for all involved,” she says. “The businesses get to show their wares and donate to an organization they believe in. Those who participate get to learn about new places and donate to organizations they wish to support. The prizes are so enticing that a $5 purchase for one raffle, if you win, or even $20 for 10 is rewarded many times over from a monetary perspective. Even if one does not win, the person is supporting a cause that they want to support. It truly is a Win. Win. Win.”
She’s got all she needs for this round, but will happily keep folks in mind for the future. These are the events where you can take a chance and keep something good going:
