Learn the Fine Art of Storytelling!
Inspired by The Moth radio hour, which features people telling stories of their lives, Elizabeth Alexander has been organizing StorySlams in Northport for years now. They all sell out. Human beings make real and touching connections. Audiences and storytellers alike are thrilled. It’s so much fun!
Many folks have said they would LOVE to share a tale, but are not quite sure how. Liz is here to help! She’s connected with an excellent teacher, “Moth Grandslam Champion” Terry Wolfisch Cole of Tell Me Another to organize an online workshop. Says the flyer:
“In her public workshops, storyteller Terry Wolfisch Cole will teach you how to turn unique experiences into interesting stories that will captivate listeners in any setting.”
Liz is hoping to grow the local pool of folks willing to step up to the mic at her events. Whether or not you’d like to do that, the ability to impart a fine tale is a valuable skill! Join them:
When: Tuesday, February 6th, 7-8pm,
Where: Zoom from the comfort of your home
Attendance fee: $15
To Register: email northportvillagestorytelling@gmail.com
Stay tuned for information on the next StorySlam! They’ve announced the next theme, which was chosen by their audience. It’s “Coincidences.” Good one, right?!? The event is tentatively planned for early spring. Story tellers wanted (use the email above)!
