A few months ago, we shared news of the Jarrett Engelhardt Pagano Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to enable people to benefit from the healing horses of Pal-O-Mine Equestrian.

Jarrett, who passed on last autumn, is the son of Nancy Engelhardt, who co-led my Leadership Huntington class with Dianne Parker in 2001. Nancy is the reason I know what Pal-O-Mine is. She’s been a board member there for 12 years now. Jarrett came to volunteer at 17 and was a fundamental part of this healing place himself. This fund is one way his spirit now lives on at the farm.

Update on the Jarrett Engelhardt Pagano Scholarship Fund

A few weeks ago, Nancy wrote to share this update on Jarrett’s fund (downloadable .pdf) She is pleased to report that over $50,000 have been raised to help folks cover the costs of various programs, including

  • Adaptive Horseback Riding & Unmounted Horsemanship
  • Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
  • Equine Assisted Learning
  • Speech & Occupational Therapy
  • Job Security Through Equine Partnershiop (JSTEP)
  • Veteran Programs

Nineteen scholarships have been awarded, enabling people to have over 188 sessions at this very special healing place. Said one family, “These services have helped my son grow in ways I never imagined possible. I wouldn’t be able to provide these services for my child without your help.”

If you would like to support the Jarrett Engelhardt Pagano Scholarship Fund, you  may do so here.
