The USA Patriots: America’s Amputee Softball Team, travels the country playing able-bodied teams in competitive and exhibition softball games, bringing their unique brand of softball, courage, and inspiration to communities nationwide. They place they’ve played the most? Long Island!

These guys have been featured on “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” on HBO, ESPN, the “Today Show” on NBC and other national media. Sports Illustrated dubbed them “America’s Team”. We got to write an in-depth story with them back in 2022. If you ask their long time major-league booster, “Joe Bart” what the USA Patriots: America’s Amputee Softball Team really means to him; what he’d really like the world to know, he’ll tell you this:

“The whole point of this is to illustrate that, despite whatever life may throw, every day is a new day. The best thing we can ever do is to embrace our new normal and cultivate an attitude that recognizes that the limits we have are self-imposed.

This is what these guys teach me every day — That the life we live is limitless.

We invite you to make the most of it, and take great pride in showing you how it’s done. It’s amazing what happens when we do.”

Calling Local Youth Groups! Join the USA Patriots for a Fun, Inspirational Pre-Game Barbeque

Next month, they’re coming home to Long Island. They invite local youth to come celebrate! Please call Joe Bart at Email us if you know a youth group that would like to get involved!

The clinic and barbeque to follow are free. Whether you work with children and young adults  who have adversity to overcome, or who simply could use to see what’s possible when one puts their mind toward making the most of things, despite what life may throw, this will be a great experience! For a little taste of what that means, check out this video with Team Captain Josh Wege.

In addition to the great community this group offers to its own community, they are each also committed to serving as mentors and inspirational role models to all who will be so served. After spending the morning visiting schools and local hospitals, the USA Patriots invite local youth to a:

What: “Impactful Friday” Meet and Greet & Clinic for Kids and Young Adults Ages 17 and Under
Where: Suffolk County Community College, Brentwood Campus
The event is designed to offer close exposure to the players, get folks moving and illustrates what’s possible in a “world without limits.”
Agenda: 3:30-4:00pm: Registration

4:00-5:00pm: Groups of 20 will gather on the field, each have a player or two as a guide who will share their stories, take questions, and offer life lessons. Some light calisthenics together will help illustrate what’s possible in “a world without limits.” All groups will gather at 5pm to hear from Josh and Matias and do some pushups with Greg.

5:15 – 6:00pm: Enjoy a Home Run Derby as 6 WWAST players will take on 6 players from the LI All Stars. Sure to be fun, with many smiles.

6:00-8:00pm: All clinic participants (must have a wristband), members of the team, local Veterans, friends and supporters are invited to a BBQ hosted by the Suffolk Police Veterans Association (SPVA).
