Northport Books has Opened on Main Street!

Northport Books is Open on Main Street!

The vision for Northport Books at 127 Main Street has a lot to do with getting kids of all ages to step away from their screens and connect “IRL” with books and people. It’s also got a lot to do with making this next phase of Proprietor Jennifer McAuliffe’s life about following her passions and giving back. Above all, it’s got to do with building community; creating a space that complements everything around it, where we all can all unplug, connect and be human together.

Check out this beautiful article from Chrissy Ruggeri of The Northport Journal from back in July, when we first started getting excited about this place: “The right place at the right time: Northport Books on Main Street set to open this month”

The Place is Buzzing...They Even Have Fireflies

The now open shop is beautiful, calming, and promises to be full of life. While fully half of the space is dedicated to kids, it is clearly a place designed for people of all ages. In addition to her corporate job in media and medical publishing, McAuliffe’s last chapter included running a book club, and authoring and publishing a series of children’s books herself. A book club is already going at the new shop, including silent reading time for adults. They are also running a regular “Music & Movement Early Childhood Exploration Class.” A NY Times Bestselling Author is coming soon, while other events are designed to help you, too, feel connected and realize your dreams.

Come to These Great Events

Again, check out the full calendar here. We’re looking forward to the ribbon cutting next week, and are especially excited about the exhibition by Fireflies Steve Walker and Steve Caputo that is now on view in the book store’s reading room. All are invited to a reception including live music from Janice Buckner on October 9th.

Beautiful art. Epic tales. So many ways to appreciate it. Hope to see you there!
