Why Unity Fun Day?
The concept is a little bit older than her, but, really, we can say this day happens because Dee Thompson made it so. The Unity Parade and Fair was created to bring us all together to celebrate our neighbors, families and local businesses. For over a a decade, the Huntington Station Enrichment Center worked with Town of Huntington Officials and the South Huntington School district to develop this day a star-studded parade, fair, music, food, and fun, shining a bright spotlight upon community accomplishments and showcasing the diverse people and programs that make us strong.
With community members still carrying the torch, it has grown from a local endeavor to a regional event, attracting thousands of people, including representation from Elwood, Harborfields, Huntington, Northport, Commack, and South Huntington, as well as elected officials, government leaders, scouts, service organizations, law enforcement representatives, religious groups, and not-for-profits from across the town.
Hope to see you there!
